February 9, 2017
LITTLE ROCK – Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge released a statement today following the appointment of her colleague, Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange, to the U.S. Senate to fill the seat left vacant by Sen. Jeff Sessions who will become U.S. Attorney General.
“Congratulations to my colleague, Luther Strange, on his appointment to the U.S. Senate,” said Attorney General Rutledge. “Luther has not only been a counselor and friend to me since I took office but a leader on countless issues for many years as he has fought public corruption, upheld the rule of law and worked to push back on an out-of-control federal government. While I will miss serving alongside Luther as attorney general, I know that he will make a fine U.S. Senator, continuing to fight for the people of Alabama.”
