ATTORNEY GENERAL ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT
Names Newport Doctor to Tobacco Settlement Commission
LITTLE ROCK- Today, Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel announced the appointment of Dr. Roddy Smart Lochala of Newport to the Arkansas Tobacco Settlement Commission.
He will be replacing Dr. Anthony Fletcher effective October 1. Dr. Fletcher is limited by law from serving another term. Dr. Lochala will be serving a 4 year term and will be eligible to serve another 4 year term after that.
Lochala is a Newport native and 1990 graduate of Newport High School. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1994 with a degree in Microbiology, and received his medical degree from University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Mo. He is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the Arkansas Army National Guard.
He has practiced since 2002 at his Family Practice Clinic in Newport where he resides with his wife Mary Kathryn and daughters, Abigail and Mary Mills.
