JULY 2016

Lorex Recalls Video Baby Monitors Due to Burn Hazard.  The video monitor's batteries can overhead, swell and expand and cause the battery cover to open or come off.  This can expose hot batteries, posing a burn hazard to consumers.

Things Remembered Recalls Children's Jewelry Due to Violation of Lead Standard.  The clear surface coating on the bracelets and necklaces contain lead in excess of the allowable limit.  Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health issues.

GSI Outdoors Recalls Children's Water Bottles Due to Violation of Lead Standard; Sold Exclusively at L.L. Bean.  The lead solder exterior base of the bottles contains high levels of lead. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health issues.

IKEA Recalls Safety Gates and Safety Gate Extensions Due to Fall Hazard.  The locking mechanism can open unexpectedly, posing a fall hazard to children and other consumers.

Three Types of Liquid Plumr Clog Removers Recalled by the Clorox Company Due to Failure to Meet Child-Resistant Closure Requirement.  The recalled bottles are not child-resistant and children can remove the top, posing a risk of chemical burns and irritation to the skin and eyes.  These produts contain sodium hydroxide which is required by the Poison Prevention packaging Act to be sealed with child-resistant packaging.

Bernhardt Recalls Dressers and Nightstands Due to Serious Tip-Over Hazard.  The recalled dressers are unstable if they are not propery anchored to the wall.

Pacific Cycle Recalls Swivel Wheel Jogging Strollers Due to Crash and Fall Hazards.  The front wheel can become loose and detach, posing crash and fall hazards.

Little Lotus Baby Swaddles and Sleeping Bags Recalled by Embrace Technologies Due to Choking Hazard.  The shoulder snaps on the baby swaddles and sleeping bags can break or detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

JUNE 2016

Children's Nightgowns Recalled by Saro Trading Due to Violation of Federal Flammability Standard.  The nightgowns fail to meet federal flammability standards for children's sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries to children.

Following an Additional Child Fatality, IKEA Recalls 29 Million MALM and Other Models of Chests and Dressers Due to Serious Tip-Over Hazard; Consumers Urged to Anchor Chests and Dressers or Return for Refund.  The recalled chests and dressers are unstable if they are not properly anchored to the wall, posing a serious tip-over and entrapment hazard that can result in death or injuries to children.

The Land of Nod Recalls Octopus Rattles Due to Choking Hazard.  The fabric discs on the tentacles of the octopus rattles can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Tommee Tippee Electric Bottle and Food Warmers Recalled by Mayborn USA Due to Fire Hazard.  The warmers can overheat and catch on fire, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

Auldey Toys Recalls Sky Rover Toys Due to Fire Hazard.  The USB charging cords sold with the toy can overheat, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers.

Far East Brokers Recalls Children's Chairs and Swings Due to Violation of Federal Lead Paint Standard.  The screen-printing on the fabric of the chairs and swings contains excessive levels of lead, which is a violation of the federal lead paint standard.

LaRose Industries Recalls Cra-Z-Jewelz Ultimate Gem Jewelry Machine Due to Violation of Lead Standard.  The "Slider Bracelet" in the jewelry making kit contains hiogh levels of lead.  Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health issues.

Hillsdale Furniture Recalls Children's Bunk Beds Due to Fall Hazard; Sold Exclusively at Bob's Discount Furniture.  The bunk bed's side mattress support rails can crack or break, posing a fall hazard.

 

MAY 2016

Bednest Recalls Bedside Infant Sleepers Due to Fall Hazard.  The bedside sleepers fail to meet mandatory federal requirements for these products, posing a fall hazard to babies.

Twin Go Recalls Baby Carriers Due to Fall Hazard.  The waist buckle can break, posing a fall hazard to children in the carrier.

Hobby Lobby Recalls Infant Pacifer Holders Due to Choking Hazard.  The fin of the whale and the head of the octopus can detach from the pacifier holder, posing a choking hazard.

Hobby Lobby Recalls Infant Rattles Due to Choking Hazard.  The rattle seams can separate, exposing the fiber stuffing and bell rattle, posing a choking hazard.

Pacific Cycle Recalls Infant Bicycle Helmets Due to Choking and Magnet Ingestion Hazards; Sold Exclisively at Target.  The magnetic buckle on the helmet's chin strap contains small plastic covers and magnets that can come loose, posing a risk of choking and magnet ingestion to young children.

phil&teds Recalls Dash Strollers Due to Risk of Injury.  The hinge used to fold the dash v5 stroller can become damaged while opening and closing the stroller, posing a pinch hazard to the consumer.

BESTAR Recalls Juvenile Dressers Due to Tip-over Hazard.  The recalled dressers are unstable, posng a serious tip-over and entrapment hazard that can result in death or serious injuries to children.

Osprey Recalls Child Backpack Carriers Due to Fall Hazard.  A cut in the plastic buckle on the shoulder strap can cause the shoulder strap to release, posing a fall hazard to a child in the carrier.

Tommee Tippee Sippee Spill-Proof Cups Recalled by Mayborn USA Due to Risk of Mold Exposure.  Mold can develop on the removable, one-piece white valve inside the spill-proof Tommee Tippee Sippee cups when it remains wet/moist and is infrequently cleaned.  The CPSC advises that mold ingestion poses a risk of gastronintestinal symptoms and infections in consumers with compromised immune systems.

IKEA Recalls Children's Bat Cape Costumes Due to Strangulation Hazard.  The fabric hook and loop fastener at the neck of the bat cape can fail to detach readily during use, posing a strangulation hazard to children.

Rainbow Play Systems Reannounces Recall of Plastic Yellow Trapeze Rings Due to Low Response Rate; Manufactured by Nylacarb.  The rings can unexpectedly crack or break during use, posing a fall hazard to children.

Fisher-Price Recalls Infant Cradle Swings Due to Fall Hazard.  When the seat peg is not fully engaged the seat can fall unexpectedly, posing a risk of injury to the child.

Miniland Educational Recalls Moogy Plush Toys Due to Choking Hazard.  The red button on the Moogy plush toy's left pocket can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Flying Tiger Copenhagan Recalls Wooden Toys Due to Choking Hazard.  Parts of the wooden toys can become detached, resulting in small pieces that can pose a choking hazard to young children.

J. Crew Recalls Girls' Coats due to Choking Hazard.  The buttons on the front of the coat can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Classic Characters Recalls Infant Booties Due to Choking Hazard; Sold Exclusively at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store.  The pompoms at the tip of the toe can detach posing a choking hazard to young children.

KHS America Recalls Children's Musical Instrument Due to Violation of Lead Paint Standard.  The pink metal note bar on the glockenspiel may contain excessive levels of lead in the paint, violating the Federal lead paint standard.  If the paint is scraped off and ingested lead can cause adverse health effects.

Wedgwood Decorative Baby Rattles Recalled by WWRD Due to Choking Hazard.  The ball bearings inside each side of the decorative rattle can be released, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Dollar General Recalls Construction Truck Toy Vehicles Due to Fire and Burn Hazards; Sold Exclusively at Dollar General.  The toy truck remote control can short circuit, causing it to overheat and posing fire and burn hazards
