The Attorney General’s office employs law clerks throughout the year in its Civil, Criminal, Medicaid Fraud and Public Protection departments. Typically, each department has two law clerks, with new clerks being named every spring, summer and fall.
The Attorney General strives to give Arkansas law students the first opportunity to clerk with the office. Students at the University of Arkansas School of Law in Fayetteville are considered for summer clerkships, and students at the UALR William H. Bowen School of Law are considered for semester clerkships. Interviews are conducted in the fall and spring at both campuses. In-State students should sign up for an interview through their Career Services Office when interview dates are posted at the law school.
Positions not filled through this process may then be opened to students from universities outside Arkansas.
