Saline County Man Arrested for Child Pornography

BENTON – Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge announced today that a Benton man has been arrested for distributing, viewing and possessing sexually explicit conduct involving a child, a Class C felony, after an investigation by the Attorney General’s Cyber Crimes Unit.
On Wednesday, June 3, agents arrested Lance Smith, 26, of Benton at his residence and seized one laptop, a hard drive and a flash drive. The seized electronic evidence is undergoing further forensic examination at the Attorney General’s Office Cyber Crimes Unit forensic lab in Little Rock.
The Cyber Crimes Unit began investigating Smith after agents suspected that child pornography was being viewed at his residence.
