The Special Investigations Division, which has jurisdiction throughout Arkansas, includes certified law enforcement officers committed to protecting Arkansans by investigating and arresting perpetrators who commit various crimes. SID is broken down into seven units:

- Cold Case Homicide/Missing Persons
- Executive Protection
Forensic examiners in the Cyber Crimes Unit’s state-of-the-art laboratory utilize the latest equipment to keep pace with ever-changing technology. The Special Investigations Division, which is a member of the Arkansas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, works cooperatively with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies at every stage of investigations, arrests and convictions.
Two Special Agents in SID are sworn Task Force Officers (TFO) with Homeland Security Investigations and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, working to collaborate on cases with the federal government. SID Special Agents often travel all across the state to assist other law enforcement agencies with complex and demanding criminal investigations. Sheriff’s offices, police departments, and federal agencies often assist SID in executing search warrants or apprehending suspects.
The Special Prosecutions Division, which consists of prosecutors who have particular knowledge and expertise in criminal proceedings. As sworn in special deputy prosecutors, SPD seeks justice for the people of Arkansas by handling cyber crimes, human trafficking, public integrity, election integrity, and organized retail crime cases in the criminal justice system.
