Attorney General Griffin Announces Opening of New Office Space in Fayetteville

Griffin: ‘This space directly connects our office to the activity and growth happening in Northwest Arkansas, and it improves our ability to recruit the University of Arkansas School of Law’s top students’

FAYETTEVILLE – Attorney General Tim Griffin issued the following statement announcing the opening of new office space for the Office of the Attorney General in Fayetteville:

“I am excited to announce the opening of our new Fayetteville office on the Downtown Fayetteville Historic Square. This space directly connects our office to the activity and growth happening in Northwest Arkansas, and it improves our ability to recruit the University of Arkansas School of Law’s top students.

“The quality of a law firm’s clerks plays a huge part in determining the quality of the firm’s legal talent over time. Often the firm where one clerks is also the firm where one works after law school. Since I became AG in 2023, my office has employed top-notch law clerks, many of whom have been students at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock’s William H. Bowen School of Law and the University of Arkansas School of Law here in Fayetteville.

“But it quickly became apparent that the only time we could employ UA law students in our Little Rock office was during the summer months, which meant we were missing opportunities to work with stellar law students nine months out of the year. This new office in Fayetteville provides space for several UA law students to clerk for us at any given time.

“The space also establishes a presence in the fastest-growing part of the state, which will allow us to build better relationships and be more responsive to the needs of Northwest Arkansas.

“I am grateful to UA Chancellor Charles Robinson for his support of this project. This will benefit the Arkansas legal community for years to come.”

Joel Gaffney, Law Clerk for the Office of the Attorney General, added the following statement:

“Without the Fayetteville office, I would be graduating law school here in a few months without having clerked for the Attorney General’s Office, plain and simple. That’s the importance of this location, because I’m now finishing school with one more valuable experience and potential employment opportunity than I would have. My summers were taken up working for private firms, and of course I couldn’t work in the Little Rock office during school. So, I’m very happy that I now get to round off my time as a law student working for the people of Arkansas.”

Diana Marrero, Law Clerk for the Office of the Attorney General, added the following statement:

“The Office of the Attorney General’s location in Fayetteville will not only be an invaluable resource to the Northwest Arkansas community, expanding access to consumer protection services, but it will also provide invaluable clerking and learning experiences, as well as career-launching opportunities, to law school students. I am truly grateful for this clerkship as it has given me the opportunity to learn from expert and dedicated attorneys while contributing to the important work the Office of the Attorney General carries out in protecting and serving the interests of Arkansas residents and consumers.”
